Undergraduate Resources

Many students attend UC Merced for their pre-medical preparation and the University offers many services detailed on this website. See the links below to learn about our available services.


Specialized advising services for Pre-Health or Pre-Med students can be found here, at our Pre-Health Advising services page of the School of Natural Sciences.
UC Merced also has general academic and peer advisors available to help guide you.

Academic Support:

Academic Support services like tutoring and studies skills workshops are also available for all UC Merced students.

Academic coaching specifically for students in the School of Natural Sciences is also available from the EXCEL! Program!


Students who plan to live on campus may want to check into Living Learning Communities. UC Merced Living Learning Communities (LLCs) unite students who have similar interests and educational goals with academic, social and personal resources across the campus community. Study/Exam Spaces

Collaborative Work Spaces for study and meetings are available (some 24/7) in the Koligian Library. Some rooms can be reserved although this may not be available for Fall of 2021 due to COVID.

Mentorship Manual

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine produced a helpful pamphlet called "Mentorship Manual for Medical Students." This resource provides good information about why you need a mentor, chracteristics of a good mentor, how to find a mentor, and how to initiate a mentoring relationship.
