We are thrilled that medical education is expanding at UC Merced through a partnership with the UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Fresno. Since the launch of the San Joaquin Valley PRIME+ BS to MD program in Fall 2023, we have been admitting cohorts annually. Students complete their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree at UC Merced and, upon meeting program requirements, continue their medical education through the UCSF School of Medicine. 

As regional campuses of the UCSF School of Medicine, UC Merced and UCSF Fresno are helping to expand access to medical education and strengthen the physician workforce pipeline in the San Joaquin Valley. UC Merced remains committed to preparing future health professionals to serve their communities and advance health across the region.
