SJV PRIME+ Major Change Policy

Students in good standing with the SJV PRIME+ Program may request to change to another approved SJV PRIME+ major. Students are encouraged to request any major change as early as possible to support timely degree completion and minimize potential impacts on academic progress. In accordance with UC Merced's Major Change Policy, major changes are generally not permitted after a student has attained senior standing (90 units), except under unusual circumstances, and students may not change or declare a major during the semester in which they have filed to graduate; please refer to the UC Merced Office of the Registrar's Major Change Policy for complete requirements.

Prior to making any changes, students must first meet with their SJV PRIME+ Staff Advisor to review their academic progress and discuss program requirements. Following this meeting, students may be reffered to their major academic advisor for next steps, as appropriate. If a major change is approved by the program, SJV PRIME+ students will follow all the steps outlined in the UC Merced's broader major change policy (e.g., submission of a major chnage form). Students may not change, add, or declare any majors or minors without first meeting with their SJV PRIME+ Staff Advisor.
