To expand medical education and strengthen the physician workforce in the San Joaquin Valley by investing in students from the region who are dedicated to serving and improving the health of the communities they call home.
Mission:
SJV PRIME+ is an innovative eight-year BS/MD program that supports students from baccalaureate education through medical school by integrating academic excellence, clinical training, research, and community engagement. Through a partnership between UC Merced, UCSF, and UCSF Fresno, the program prepares 21st-century physician leaders who are committed to serving the San Joaquin Valley. Students develop the knowledge, skills, and compassion to advocate for patients, partner with communities, and address the social determinants of health to improve health outcomes across the region.
